ESM Export Process and Included Sections
The Export process provides one consistent way to publish applicable Flat Rate and ESM changes from the Command Center.
Flat Rate already uses the Export process today. With this project, applicable ESM Equipment, ESM Setup, and ESM Settings are now included in the same workflow.
When a change is made in an included section, the Export icon turns red, letting the user know there are changes waiting to be published. After the Export is successfully completed, the icon turns green.
Included Sections
The following sections are included in the Export process.
ESM
- ESM Equipment
- ESM Setup
- ESM Settings
Flat Rate
- General
- Pricing
- Repair Info
How the Export Process Works
1. Make a Change
When a user updates an applicable Flat Rate or ESM setting, the change becomes pending for Export.
Multiple changes can be made before running the Export.
2. Export Icon Turns Red
The Export icon at the top of the Command Center turns red when there are pending changes.
Red means:
Changes are waiting to be exported.
3. Review and Export
Click the red Export icon to open the Export Confirmation window.
The window shows the changes ready to be exported. Review the list, then click Export Now.
While the Export is running, the Export in Progress window displays the current progress.
4. Export Complete
Once the Export finishes, the Export Complete window confirms which changes were successfully published.
The changes are now live in the Command Center and ready for the Technician Apps based on the configured download method.
The Export icon will then turn green.
Green means: There are no pending changes to export.
Notes:
Red Export Icon
A red Export icon means there are pending Flat Rate or ESM changes that have not yet been exported.
Users can continue making additional changes before starting the Export. All pending changes can be included in the same Export.
Green Export Icon
A green Export icon means there are currently no pending changes that require an Export.
During an Export
The Export progress window shows the current status while changes are being published and packaged for the Technician Apps.
If additional applicable changes are made while an Export is already in progress, those changes are not included in the active Export and will remain pending for the next Export.
Technician Apps
Completing an Export makes the latest changes available to the Technician Apps.
How technicians receive those changes depends on the configured App Download Method, either Auto Download or Manual Download.
Multiple Changes
Users do not need to run an Export after every individual change.
Multiple Flat Rate and ESM updates can be completed first and then published together in one Export.
