Bulk Update of Parts
In Version 13.0, we have provided two methods to Bulk Update Part Costs:
- Global Part Increase or Decrease by %
- Download Parts to Spreadsheet, Modify, Upload
Global Part Increase/Decrease by %
Previously with the old structure there was a way to globally increase or decrease the cost of the Parts. This percent change was based on the current System Part Cost. Each year as the System Part Cost updated, each company would determine if this percent change was necessary.
Now that the concept of the System Part is gone we have provided a different way to do a global update. We have create a new Setting:
- From the Command Center, click on Settings
- Under the Flat Rate Settings section, click on "Mass Part Cost Update"
- Elect to Increase or Decrease the Part Cost
- Provide a Percentage for that Increase/Decrease
- Click the "Preview Part Cost Change" button - this will provide a popup with 10-12 of the most popular parts in the software, show your current price and then what the new price will be after the increase/decrease is applied. This is a way to preview the change without it taking effect
- If happy with the project change, click the green, "Make Part Cost Adjustment Permanent" button
- You will be prompted to download a backup of your Parts - click the green, "Download" button
- Click the blue button to Confirm the download
- Do Not Leave the Page as the Export begins - you can see status in the top tool bar
- Once the Export is completed, then click the Download icon
- Click the checkbox to acknowledge that you have downloaded the backup, click the green Next button
- Acknowledge the warning
- Wait until the Part update has been completed
Yes, there are many steps, but mostly we are taking many precautions as this is one of the core components to the Repair Prices in the software.
Once done, you will need to Export for the Part Prices to take effect in the Command Center and on the app.
Download Parts Spreadsheet
With this option, you can download the Part List, change it as needed and then upload it back into the software. This allows you to change individual part prices or use Excel to apply a global update.
- From the Command Center, click on Settings
- Under the Flat Rate Settings section, click on Parts
- Click the "Bulk Update of Parts" button
- Select the "Bulk Update of Parts" option
- Click the green, "Download Spreadsheet" button
- Download the Spreadsheet
- Open the Spreadsheet on your computer and make the necessary changes
- Return to this page, click the "Ready to Upload" button
Important Notes
- Remember you are updating your Company Library
- Changes do not take effect until an Export is completed - same behavior as before
- The final step can take 5-10 minutes to update the Parts, be patient and do not close the browser
