Unified Time Zone Setting and Accurate Timestamp Conversion
The timestamp issue has been a long-standing challenge in the software, where displayed time is often inconsistent with the user’s actual time zone. This inconsistency occurred because timestamps from the App were recorded using the device’s local time zone, while most system timestamps were captured using server time (Central Time). As a result, users frequently encountered mismatched or confusing timestamps across activity logs, schedules, communications, and reports.
To fully resolve this, we introduced a centralized time zone control within the Dealer Settings. This new setting governs how timestamps are displayed across the entire platform, ensuring every timestamp from every source is interpreted consistently according to the dealer’s chosen time zone. Along with this unified control, we also corrected how the App records time-related data so that timestamps now follow the dealer’s configured time zone rather than the device’s own settings. This ensures a fully aligned, predictable, and accurate time experience across both the Command Center and the Apps.
Key Changes:
Unified Time Zone Setting:
Administrators can now easily set and update their Company Time Zone right from the dealer settings in the Command Center. When a new Time Zone is selected, all existing timestamps automatically adjust to reflect the updated setting, keeping everything consistent and accurate.Removed Per-Technician, and Online Dispatching Time Zone Setting:
To prevent any conflicting configurations, we’ve removed the Per-Technician Time Zone option and the Time Zone setting in Online Dispatching. With our new Unified Time Zone in place, both scenarios are now fully managed through this single, centralized setting.Centralized Time Storage and Timestamp Conversion:
All timestamps including Apps are stored on our servers in a Centralized Time Zone to ensure consistent data across every region and server. This foundation allows us to reliably convert and display all timestamps in your data according to your Company Time Zone.App Time Handling:
App timestamps are being stored in the Centralized Time Zone regardless of device's local time zone. When timestamps are viewed from the App, the timestamps are converted according to the Company's Time Zone.Audit Trail on Time Zone Changes:
For added visibility, we’ve introduced a dedicated log that tracks all Time Zone updates. Each entry records the date, time, the User who made the change, and the specific update applied.Seemless Day Light Savings Time Handling:
We have incorporated proven time zone libraries with full DST rule coverage to make DST transitions seemless. As long as you are on the correct Time Zone setting, Day Light Savings Time will be handled automatically.
Locating the Time Zone Setting:
Click on Settings from the left-hand panel
Go to Company Settings section
Click on Time Zone
Locating and Updating the User Permission:
Click on Settings from the left-hand panel
Go to Users section
Click on Admin Users
Find and Edit the Admin User you want to change Time Zone permission
Scroll down to User Permission
Expand Company Module
Check or Uncheck Time Zone checkbox

All timestamps presented to users will always reflect the Company's configured time zone, ensuring clarity across appointments, logs, and communications.
The Time Zone setting is available to all Super Admins by default. Normal Users can gain access as well -simply have their Administrator enable the necessary permissions.
